Anne Barrett
Founder

I am a Portland native, who after living abroad for several years, fell back in love with my home town and the live music, art, and awesome small businesses that make the city truly special.

I began seeing live music at small venues like The Laurelthirst and Landmark Saloon almost nightly, and started offering free and inexpensive help to local musicians, to have any excuse to be around the music, fans, and venues I was falling in love with. These musicians and fans turned into friends, and the venues turned into second and third homes.

I officially started Local Hero Media (Thank you David Lipkind for the name idea!) after noticing that many of these amazing musician, creative, and small-business-owning friends were having trouble maintaining their online presence. They wanted to write the song, give the massage, or sell the house. They didn't want to spend their time uploading videos or resizing logos. What began as updating tour dates turned into a full suite of promotional services like Website Design, Photography, and Graphic Design.
I enjoy taking care of things behind the scenes and seeing clients happy and creative brains interrupted and flowing.

I have been called a Renaissance Woman - in addition to promotion, I have provided backup harmony vocals, managed newsletters, designed album release swag, and single-handedly filmed a 2-camera live outdoor recipe tutorial!

Recently, I have added more Virtual Assistant services to my offerings. Inbox, Calendar, Newsletter management, Travel Booking and Coordinating, Social Media Post and Flyer Design to name a few. Please contact me if you'd like my full suite of services. And if you don't see it listed, ask anyway! Odds are if I don't have the specific skill, I know someone who can help.

If you have a project you'd like to get off the ground, or need help keeping one going, I'd love to work with you. Let's make magic!
